Sabine Stein studied Photography at the Fachhochschule Dortmund, Germany. With her diploma thesis "Beirut. Silent saces" she was one of the finalists of the CNN Journalist Award 2013. The photobook is published as APP in the iTunes store. In 2014 she produced the work "Craft Act. Philippinische Manufaktur im Wandel" with a scolarship of the DAAD and in cooperation with the AFOS Foundation in the Visayas, Philippines. The work was shown in the frame of a group exhibition on different locations in Germany. In 2016/2017, with the support of a scolarship of the DAAD, she produced a new work in Patras, Greece, with focus on the economical crisis. Following, she produced "69 years and 130 days" in Palestine - both works are still in progress. During her stay in Palestine she realized also different workshops in photography for young adults in the Jenin refugee camp, in cooperation with the Freelens Foundation and the Freedom Theater, Jenin. The results were shown as exhibitions in Jenin and are also supposed to be presented in Europe. Sabine Stein is working as a picture editor, teacher in photography and documentary photographer based in Aachen, Germany.
